The 43rd District Democrats will vote on a resolution in support of municipal broadband at their upcoming endorsement meeting!
The resolution calls on the Seattle City Council and Mayor Jenny Durkan to expedite the creation of a public internet utility, and asks that funding for a full municipal broadband build-out plan be added to next year's budget.
Voting is restricted to members, but new members are allowed to vote 10 days after paying dues, so the deadline to become a member in time to vote in the September meeting is Sunday Sept 2nd before 11:59pm.
Membership is available to anyone who lives in the 43rd District who identifies in some manner as a Democrat (i.e. Democratic Socialists, Green Democrats, and Democratic Internet-Activists are all welcome to join). People interested in joining the 43rd District Democrats can do so here.
Already a member? We need three people eager to speak for 1 minute each about the benefits of municipal broadband. If you're interested in speaking, please email firstname.lastname@example.org to arrange to speak. (Shirts available to any interested volunteers.)
