Seattle City Council Primary - Tuesday, August 6th

This August, all seven city council districts are up for re-election. Citywide over 50 candidates are hoping to represent you on the Seattle City Council. There are way too many candidates and our internet is way too slow to actually meet with everyone. In lieu of endorsements, here are candidates who have affirmatively indicated their support for municipal broadband.

What’s at Stake:

Who sits on the Seattle City Council is incredibly important for the future of municipal broadband in Seattle. Since 2015, the council has repeatedly put forward municipal broadband pilot projects and introduced legislation funding construction plans only to come one or two votes shy of passing.

This August, when you’re filling out your ballot, ensure that the candidates you support in turn support building out a public internet utility.
